LATEST NEWS REGARDING BRIAN SHAFFER

September 3, 2010: We met with the Attorney General and the missing 'team' to review newly created website featuring all missing persons. The site will be used by families of the missing to help when a loved one goes missing. It will include a checklist for families, templates for flyers for the missing and profiles of each missing person in Ohio (adults and children). Thankful to see progress.

July, 2010 - On a good note, the Attorney General met with families of the missing to discuss how Ohio can better handle missing person cases. A commmitte has now been formed which will meet every 6 weeks with the AG. On a sad note, Brian has now been missing over 4 years, 3 months and 25 days; or 225 weeks or over 37,000 hours. Where is Brian?

Any way you state the number, it is still overwhelming. Over the last few weeks, once again the emotions run wild for the Shaffer family. A body was found less than 2 miles from where Brian last disappeared and description of clothing was similar to what Brian was last seen wearing. The discovery lead to a few days of anxious waiting for an identification. The body was NOT Brian. It was positively identified as Juan Hernandez. Please pray for the Hernandez family and continue to pray for answers for Brian. News reports were released this week concerning a possible serial killer targeting college students ("The Smiley Face Killer") who have ended up drowned. A happy note to report! Brian's brother, Derek was recently engaged to his longterm girlfriend Maurin Komives. Congratulations Derek and Maurin!

March 30, 2008:
The last month has been a very emotional month for those who love and miss Brian Shaffer. His birthday was February 11, a search was conducted along the Scioto River on March 16th, and March 29th, a blood drive and candlelight vigil was held for the upcoming 2 year mark. We have added a video of the vigil to the front page and will continue to add more pictures. Brian's case has been back in the media which is very positive! Thank you to all who continue to remember Brian and the other missing. TUESDAY, APRIL 1st will mark 2 years. Please continue to pray for answers for Brian.

March 16, 2008:
A search was conducted on Sunday, March 16th at Scioto Boulevard. Unfortunately, the search did not produce any additional details regarding Brian's disappearance.
BLOOD DRIVE: A blood drive will be held on Saturday, March 29th from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at 1375 Chambers Road in Grandview in Brian and Renee's honor.

CANDLELIGHT VIGIL: A candlelight vigil will be held on Saturday, March 29th at 7 p.m. in the courtyard outside the Ugly Tuna Saloona located at 1546 N. High Street in Columbus. This will be to remember Brian, who will be missing 2 years on April 1st.

December, 2007: UPCOMING SEARCH CANCELLED: The search that was scheduled for Saturday, December 8th has been cancelled. This was necessary due to unforeseen illness in the Texas EquuSearch team and scheduling conflicts. Please continue to keep Brian and his family in your prayers.
